House Rules and Consent Policy
Consent is key to us and we want our visitors to have a good consent experience at MindFuck. We don't always realize that different subcultures, and different people deal with consent policies and practices differently. To make sure people are aware of these differences and interact with people in a way that feels good to them, we have tried to set up a system that allows people to choose their preferred way. This system focuses on one of the major differences: initiating contact through touch.
When arriving at the party, you get to choose a wristband that communicates how you would like to handle consent. Of course you can always change your colour during the party.
- 🔵Blue: All negotiation needs to be done verbally and explicitly, if you would like something? Ask, even if the answer seems obvious.
- 🔴Red: Negotiation can be done verbally or non-verbally. In case of doubt or miscommunication you should still use your words, and of course getting a (verbal or non-verbal) yes is still important before escalating the situation. Read this to learn more about non-verbal consent negotiation!
We have some rules of engagement that we expect everyone at MindFuck to honor:
- No play or escalation of flirting without consent (either verbal or non verbal)
- Don’t interrupt ongoing scenes unless you have prior consent to do so
- Any form of racism or discrimination is unacceptable
- Be respectful of both other people's space, play and differences. People might do things differently than you and that is okay. If you are worried something might be unsafe. Come find one of the organisers
If you feel unsure if something you want to do is OK, or if you feel insecure or unsafe about anything. Come find one of the organisers. We will gladly sort it out with you. Failing to comply with our consent policy and/or house rules may get you removed from the event without any refund.
